Google explains policy changes amid privacy concerns

Google explains policy changes amid privacy concernsInternet giant, Google is trying to explain the changes that were recently announced by the company in order to address some of the privacy concerns raised by various sections.

Google Policy Manager Betsy Masiello wrote in a company blog that the users would continue to have control over what information is accessed by the company and that the company is not going to collect any information that it did not collect in the past. The users will still decide upon how much of Google services they want to use.

She added that certain services like Google search, Google maps, and YouTube do now require a user to create a username and for services that require a username, there are told to reduce the amount of information being collected by the company.

"Our new policy simply makes it clear that we use data to refine and improve your experience on Google, whichever products or services you use. This is something we have already been doing for a long time," she wrote. She pointed out that the company is trying to simplify things and is being open about the changes.

However, many remain concerned over the changes and U. S. lawmakers have already asked the Federal Trade Commission to determine if the new changes violates the 20-year settlement reached by the company and the federal agency in the previous year.
