“Goal Is Made Out Of A Lot Of Heart,” Says John
“Box office success of Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal is very important. Every film has to be successful at the end of the day,” says John Abraham.
After failure of No Smoking, commercial success is all important for John.
“Goal is made out of a lot of heart and I hope and wish that people watch it with a lot of heart,” the talented actor adds.
Viveik Agnihotri’s Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal is a sports centric film based in UK with racial undertones.
John said, “I play for Aston and aspire to be in the British team but I end up in a special team Southall United.”
About the comparisons of Goal with “Chak De”, John said, “That’s the question of the century. Chak De and Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal are two different films. The only similarity is that both are associated with sports.”
When he was asked about experiences of playing football on and off the screen, John said, “While filming it involves a lot of retakes for the same kick. And when you score a goal you have to be happy twenty times.”
John said his all time favorite film is “Escape to Victory. It was also based on football with Pele and Sylvester Stallone.
During the filming of Goal, Bipasha had first hand experience of racialism in UK. John said thoughtfully, “Yes Bipasha and Arshad faced it. Both were shocked. They were shocked that they could be spoken to like this. And they didn’t realize that racialism was so strong till they faced it.”
John Abraham and Bipasha Basu also danced on the sets of Nach Baliye on Television to earn more scores for their film “Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal.”
