Get ready to catch new Audi A6 in India from May 4 (Update)You will be able to catch the new Audi A6, next month in India. The arm of the German automaker, Audi India, unveiling its luxury executive car Audi A6 in India on Thursday last week, officially announced that Audi A6 will be available in India from May 4.

According to Audi India, Audi A6 will be available in saloon/sedan and Avant body styles, and it will be available for the price starting from Rs.38.57 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai), at Audi dealerships pan-India. The luxury executive car, Audi A6 will be available in four engine variants and six colours, including Aventurin Blue, Dakar Beige, Ice Silver, Oyster Grey Phantom Black and Ibis White.

"The Audi A6 is the most successful business sedan worldwide and one of our main contributors to our achievement in the Indian market. We believe the new Audi A6 will be one of the key players in the Indian luxury car market,” said the Audi India Managing Director, Benoit Tiers, while speaking at the launch of the Audi A6 in India.

According to Audi India, the Audi A6 will be in the latest generation of engines, including include the 3.0 litre TFSI, 2.8 FSI, 3.0TDI, and 2.7TDI. The new design of the A6 will feature stronger lines and a slightly sporty undertone with the elegance expected from a high-end sedan.

“The new Audi A6 with its thrilling design, powerful engines and its combination of dynamic performance and lower fuel consumption will be one of the key players in the Indian luxury car market,” Tiers said about the Audi A6.

Speaking of the importance of Indian market, Tiers said, "India has been a significant growth driver for Audi and will be the car market of the future. In 2009, Audi celebrates 100 years of the brand and the launch of the new Audi A6 is Audi's continued commitment to the Indian market to offer luxury cars."

The market analysts say that Audi India has priced the new variants of Audi A6 some Rs. 2 lakh below the price of existing A6 model. The company is aiming to lure more buyers by pricing the car Rs. 2 lakh below.
