German bicycle maker CUBE introduces Stereo Hybrid One55 E-MTB
CUBE, a German manufacturer involved in the production of bicycles and related components, recently took wraps off its newest model, called the Stereo Hybrid One55. The Stereo Hybrid One55 e-bike has been built on the foundations of its non-electric sibling – the Stereo One55. Presenting itself as a more capable all-mountain trail machine, the Hybrid One55 features cutting-edge frame and comes equipped with a powerful e-motor and sturdy components.
To be more precise, the Stereo Hybrid One55 e-bike comes equipped with the 4th-generation of the Bosch Performance CX motor, which churns out nominal output of 250W and 85 Nm of torque for all-around riding. Like most Bosch-powered e-bikes, the hybrid e-bike also uses a Bosch PowerTube battery that boasts a 750-Wh capacity.
The frame, which houses the e-motor and battery pack, is a totally new innovation. The manufacturer has designed and produced the frame of the e-bike out of a newly developed carbon fiber, called C68X fiber. Even in its full-suspension configuration, the frame weighs just around 2.9 kg. When fully built with the inclusion of all specs, the e-bike weighs only 21.9 kg. It is quite impressive to have such a low weight for a mountain bike of this capability.
The list of the Stereo Hybrid One55 E-MTB’s other high-end components includes full suspension, 150mm rear, 160mm front travel and Fox Factory Float 36 fork, 29-inch carbon wheels, 1 × 12 Electronic drivetrain, XX1 Eagle AXS, X01 Eagle AXS groupset, hydraulic disc brakes, and Dropper seatpost.
The Kashima coated 15 by 110-mm tapered fork is Fox 38 Float Factory FIT GRIP2. For rear shock, the company has used Kashima coated Fox Float X2 Factory, 230x60mm, High/Low Speed Rebound & Compression w/ 2-Position Lever. For headset, there is ACROS AZF-675, Integrated Cable Routing (ICR), Top Zero-Stack 1 1/2" (ZS 56mm), Bottom Zero-Stack 1 ½” (ZS 56mm), and Fiber Inserts for Angle Adjustment.
However, the Stereo Hybrid One55 E-MTB loaded with all those eye-catching features and high-tech specs comes at a considerable cost. The German brand lists the new e-bike with a MRSP of €9,999 (approx. US$10,654.93).
The Stereo Hybrid One55 E-MTB will compete with the likes of the SLX 750 and TM 750. The SLX 750 comes equipped with a RockShox Lyrik Select plus fork with 160 mm of travel, SRAM GX Eagle groupset, and Magura MT7 brakes. The Moving up the ladder, TM 750 version comes equipped with Fox 38 suspension and Shimano XT technology. The more capable SLT 750 features SRAM Eagle AXS and Magura MT7 brakes.
