Srikkanth peps up Ganguly for more tons

Chief selector Krishnamachari SrikkanthChief selector Krishnamachari Srikkanth lauded the century scored by Sourav Ganguly at Mohali against the Australians and asked the southpaw to come up with more hundreds in his last series so that he goes out on a high.

Speaking with the media persons, Srikkanth said, “I am very happy Ganguly is doing so well. He still has two more matches to go.”

"I will be very happy if he gets centuries in the next two matches and goes out on a big high," added Srikkanth.

Lawson clean bowled by PCB!

Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) ended national team coach Geoff Lawson's contract with a three months' pay as compensation. The board’s CEO Shafqat Naghmi has also been replaced by Saleem Altaf.

Speaking to the media persons here, PCB spokesman Raza Rashid said, “Geoff Lawson has been removed as coach of Pakistan.”

The former pace bowler from Australia was hired after the former Pakistan coach Bob Woolmer was found dead during the 2007 World Cup in West Indies. Lawson’s two year contract was due to end in 2009.
