Bharti Teletech, one of India's leading manufacturers and distributors of telecom & allied products, has signed up a strategic pact with Transcend Information Inc., a leading global player in the Memory accessories business.
Under the deal, Bharti Teletech will sell and distribute the complete range of Transcend products in the Indian market.
Transcend will be able to leverage Bharti Teletech’s wide retail network of more than 36000 retailers spread across 3600 Towns in the country.
According to a survey, schools would soon have to upgrade their furniture as the children have outgrown the furniture designed in 1960’s due to increase in height and weight.
A research conducted by the Furniture Industry Research Association, compared the measurements of 1,500 children in 2001 with data from 1971. It was found that average height increase in children is at a rate of 1cm a decade, with most of the growth in the lower leg.
Women who opt for silicon breast implants have an increased risk of developing a rare form of lymphoma. About 0.1 to 0.3 per 100,000 women with implants each year are susceptible to the disease, according to the Dutch authors of a study published in the Nov. 5 issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association.
French scientists claim to have discovered a drug that could burn body fat though the person is on high - fat diet. A team from The University of Louis Pasteur has tested the drug on mice. They found that it protected mice against weight gain and insulin resistance.
The drug is still in the experimental stage and thus doesn't have a brand name. It's called SRT1720 as it targets the SIRT1 gene. It boosts the fat metabolism in mice in a similar fashion as in case of scarce calorie diet.
Karnataka Transport Minister R Ashok announced that in order to strengthen its four transport corporations, the department is going to recruit 18,000 personnel including drivers, conductors and technical hands during the year.
