Cong MP's security beefed up after fears of Sena attackThe Mumbai police have stepped up security outside Congress MP Gurudas Kamats residence near Diamond Garden in Chembur following reports of a possible attack by Shiv Sainiks.

Kamat had recently criticized Sena chief Bal Thackeray for defending sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur and the other accused in the Malegaon blast case. He demanded that govt. should take strict action needs to be taken against both Islamic and Hindu terror outfits.

He also said that, by defending Sadhvi in public Thackrey had endorsed terror and so he also needed to be arrested.

Rajasthan polls: BJP releases first list of candidatesThe Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday released a list of 95 candidates for the Rajasthan assembly polls.

But in a surprise move 12 of the sitting MLAs didn’t figure in the list. Names of 24 MLAs repeated for this time also.

The list includes 15 women, 10 candidates from Scheduled Tribes and 19 from the Scheduled Castes.

Daler allowed to use passportA local court in Patiala allowed Bhangra-pop singer Daler Mehndi to use his passport for traveling abroad.

Mehndi was accused of human trafficking in September 2003. It was alleged that he was taking money to include people in his musical group and help them to migrate illegally to other countries.

Mehandi's lawyer on Monday told the court Mehndi had several stage performances in abroad and for that he requires his passport. He said that Mehndi had been attending all court hearings in Patiala. Mehendi was present in the Court on Monday.

Company's Chief Executive Officer (India) Vijay Bhatnagar said that the detailed project report is ready and an expert panel is going to examine it.

"Once the study by the technical experts is over, the DPR will be submitted to the state government," Mr Bhatnagar informed.

Alva appears before disciplinary committee chief

Alva created a storm in Congress last week by alleging that party tickets were sold for up coming assembly polls.

During the meeting, Alva is believed to have told Antony the reasons behind her allegations, party sources said.

She was called by the disciplinary committee after her outburst.
