Parsvnath, Constructura San Jose Jointly Enter into Infrastructure sector in IndiaIn an attempt to start new infrastructure projects in India, Delhi-based realty company Parsvnath Developers, has finalized a tie-up with Constructora San Jose, a unit of Spain's infrastructure development company Grupo San Jose. Parsvnath and San Jose would hold equal equity in the joint venture company San Jose-Parsvnath Consortium.

Tata Consultancy Inaugurates Fourth Delivery centre in China

Tata Consultancy ServicesTata Consultancy Services (TCS), largest IT services provider in India, has further expanded its operations in China by inaugurating its fourth global delivery centre at Tianjin, which will have capacity of 300 seats. The other centres in China are at Bejing, Shanghai and Hangzhou. With this, the company will have a staff strength of over 1,300 in the region.

NMDC Collaborates with WBMDTC for Coal Mining in Birbhum

NMDC LimitedPublic sector major NMDC Limited has signed a MoU with the West Bengal Mineral Development & Trading Corporation Ltd (WBMDTC) to explore, develop and mine Deocha-Pachmi coal block in Birbhum.

The area stretches to about 9.7 sq km, but initially, mining will be carried out only in 3.2 sq km area, which has a coal reserve of 450 million tonne, 100 metre deep. Both companies shall have 50-50 stake in the venture.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee and Steel Minister Ram Vilas Paswan, by NMDC Director (Technical) P S Upadhyay and WBMDCTC CMD Arun Kumar Sen.

Intel i7 processorsIntel, the chip making leader, has launched its first quad-core solution, which it claims as its most advanced processor, for the desktop PC, achieved with 45 nanometre silicon technology.

The i7 processor, flowing from the design hitherto codenamed 'Nehalem' has taken a world record 117 points in the popular industry benchmark, SPECint, almost doubling the 'memory bandwidth' of previous Intel offerings in this class.

Floods Beneath Antarctica’s Ice Sheet Create a Glacial Slip-and-Slide

Antarctic ice sheetA new study, that involved tracking of recent floods beneath the Byrd Glacier, has claimed that deep beneath the Antarctic ice sheet, floods of water from buried lakes can hurry glaciers along on their slow slide towards the sea. According to Andy Smith of the British Antarctic Survey, who was not involved in this latest study, "It's like putting in a squirt of oil. The water lubricates the base of the glacier."
