It’s splitsville for Leisel Jones and Marty Pask

Melbourne, Nov 16 : Olympic swimming champion Leisel Jones and former AFL footballer Marty Pask have called off their engagement.

The pair was due to tie the knot next year but has amicably decided to end their two-year relationship after realising they were not yet ready for the commitment of marriage. 

In a statement released by Jones'' management, the duo said that they would remain friends and would continue to support each other. 

"Marty and I met at a time that was right for both of us and we have shared some wonderful memories together but over time we have realised that we were not ready for the commitment of marriage," News. com. au quoted Jones, as saying in a statement.

These results leave Real and Valencia in joint third place, together on 23 points.

Vonn captures maiden World Cup slalom

Lindsey VonnLevi, Finland - Lindsey Vonn of the United States clinched her maiden World Cup slalom in the first women's slalom of the alpine ski World Cup season in the Finnish resort of Levi on Saturday.

Vonn, last season's overall winner and downhill champion, almost crashed out on the second leg but recovered to finish 0.40 seconds ahead of Maria Pietilae-Holmer of Sweden.

It was the 14th World Cup win for 24-year-old Vonn but the first in the slalom discipline for the downhill specialist.

Last season's slalom champion Maria Riesch of Germany edged Austria's Nicole Hosp for third place.
