HTC unveils world's first 64-bit Android phone 'Desire 510'

Desire-510Washington, Aug 28 : HTC has announced Desire 510, the first Android phone to run a 64-bit processor.

HTC's Desire 510 is a pretty budget-conscious affair; aside from the 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor with LTE, it features a 4.7-inch 854 x 480 screen, a five-megapixel camera, and 1GB of RAM, The Verge reported.

The primary advantage of 64-bit processing is the ability to address more than 4GB of RAM, so the Desire 510 isn't going to set any power records.

Mahindra Reva launches e20 premium variant priced Rs 5.72 lakh

mahindra-reva-e20New Delhi: Mahindra Reva Electric Vehicles, a part of the Mahindra Group, on Thursday launched a premium variant of its electric small car e2o priced at Rs 5.72 lakh (on road Delhi) with a monthly energy fee of Rs 2,999 for five years.

The premium e2o has an extended range of 120 km and electric power steering.

"Convenience of city driving has always been a priority for Mahindra Reva. The e2o is automatic with the smallest turning radius, along with features like the hill-hold, which prevent it from rolling back while on an incline," Mahindra Reva Electric Vehicles CEO Chetan Maini said in a statement.

Tata Motors launches 'Zest' to revive sagging fortunes

The Zest is a compact sedan built on a new platform and, in a departure from previous models, boasts user-friendly features such as touch screen control panels.

Tata Motors has performed well this year thanks in part to strong sales of its luxury Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles.

Microsoft Devices said Lumia 530 will be available in stores at a best buy price of Rs 7,349 starting August 14.

The new Lumia 530 will provide a powerful entry to Windows Phone 8.1 with a Quad Core processor delivering faster and smoother user experience, among others, it said in a press release.

This device will expand the reach of Windows Phone as it allows more people to enjoy Lumia innovations and Microsoft services similar to those offered in high-end Lumia smartphones, the release added.

Microsoft launches low budget 'Nokia 130' for just NZD 30

Nokia-130Washington, Aug 12 : Microsoft has launched a low budget phone 'Nokia 130', which can play music and videos but no internet capabilities, available for just 30NZ dollars.

The Nokia 130 comes in single and dual-SIM card varieties but does not have internet capabilities. Instead, it's optimized for playing music and videos.

The handset boasts up to 46 hours of music playback time and 16 hours of video playback. It can remain on standby without needing to charge for a month. Music and videos can be stored locally on the device with an SD card, and the phone itself can store up to 32 GB, Adweek reported.

Bajaj launches two new models under the Discover range

Hyundai launches Elite i20; price starts at Rs 4.9 lakh

Elite-i20New Delhi: Hyundai Motor India on Monday launched all new version of its premium compact car i20 priced between Rs 4.9 lakh and Rs 7.67 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

The second generation model -- i20 Elite -- would compete with the likes of Maruti Suzuki's Swift and Volkswagen Polo, priced between Rs 4.42 lakh and Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Commenting on the launch, Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) Managing Director & CEO B S Seo said since the launch of first generation i20 in December 2008, the company has so far sold 7.34 lakh units in the country.

Microsoft unveils Xbox in China after 14 years ban

Yusuf Mehdi, chief marketing and strategy officer for Xbox said the new gaming console, the Xbox One, will be available in China in September.

China's Ministry of Culture together with seven other ministries banned the manufacture and sale of all game consoles in China in 2000.

BlackBerry launches Z3 smartphone in India

The phone, which is priced at Rs 15,990 in India, is among the first devices made by Foxconn for the company and sports a 5-inch qHD (540x960p) display with a 2500mAh battery.

Comprising of a 1.5 GB RAM, the phone runs on BlackBerry 10 OS version 10.2.1 and is powered by a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 (MSM8230) dual-core processor.

Microsoft unveils Nokia X2 for 99 euros

Microsoft-Nokia-X2New Delhi: Microsoft Devices on Tuesday unveiled the successor to its Android-centred Nokia X handsets - Nokia X2 - priced at 99 euros, beefing up its budget smartphone portfolio to compete more aggressively with the likes of Samsung, HTC and Chinese players like Gionee, Huawei and ZTE.

Nokia X2 will be priced at 99 euros (about Rs 8,100) before taxes and subsidies and will be available immediately in select countries globally, Microsoft said on its official Conversations blog. However, the details on the countries of launch were not disclosed.

Asus' ZenFone to hit Indian market next month

Asus-ZenFoneNew Delhi: Taiwanese tech major Asus is set to expand presence in the country with introduction of its range of 'ZenFone' smartphones next month, which will take head on devices from the stables of Samsung, Microsoft Devices and Motorola as well as domestic firms like Micromax.

Asus, known globally for its mother boards, will launch its ZenFone range of smartphones in India next month in the mid and premium range, sources said.

The firm had unveiled various ZenFone models with screen size ranging from 4 inches onwards at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas and Computex in Taiwan earlier this year.
