Tehran - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Wednesday again blamed the United States for the global market crisis.
"This is not a global crisis but your (US) crisis," Ahmadinejad said in Khorramabad, western Iran.
"After the political failures (in Iraq and Afghanistan), the wrong US policies also affected their own economy," the president said in a speech carried live by the news network Khabar.
Ahmadinejad said US and Western desire for hegemony had led to the current market crisis.
"You (US) are the roots for all the corruption in the world and there is no way out of this dilemma than to return to the path of spirituality, ethics and justice," he said.
Seoul - Creditors of ailing Daewoo Electronics have chosen US equity firm Ripplewood Holdings as their preferred bidder after two failed attempts to sell South Korea's third-largest appliance and television maker, a South Korean bank said Wednesday.
Leading creditor Woori Bank said in Seoul that the takeover of Daewoo Electronics should be formalized by the end of this year.
New York-based Ripplewood will be granted access to Daewoo's books before the deal was signed, Woori Bank said, but declined to give details regarding the US company's offer.
Ripplewood was entering negotations with an offer of about 400 billon won, the national Yonhap news agency said, quoting industry sources.
Kiev - Ukraine's parliament must approve a 16.5-billion- dollar assistance package from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), or the former Soviet republic will face default, the country's national bank head said Tuesday.
Volodymyr Stelmakh, chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), said Kiev desperately needs the low-cost loan, as without it the NBU "almost certainly" would be unable to honour Ukraine's foreign debts.
Stelmakh's statement, made at a Kiev press conference, was Ukraine's clearest warning yet that the world financial crisis had left the country short of cash and on the edge of default on bonds sold in international markets.

London, October 29: Microsoft researchers have developed a system called SideSight that can allow a mobile phone user to control a handset placed on a table by wiggling his/her fingers in the space around it.
The technology was unveiled last week at the User Interface in Software and Technology symposium in Monterey, California.
Alex Butler, a researcher from the Sensors and Devices Group at Microsoft Research Cambridge in the UK, has revealed that the system derives its exceptional ability from infrared sensors that can pick up the movement of fingers up to 10 centimetres away.
"The big advantage of our prototype is the finger does not block any of the screen space," New Scientist magazine quoted Butler as saying.
