Republicans joining the Obama-backing bandwagon in drovesWashington, Oct 25 : In what is being described as an after-affect of former Secretary of State Colin Powell committing his support for Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama, a large number of Republican moderates, neo-cons and former aides to President Bush who have announced that they will vote for Democrat Barack Obama.

Powell had last week crossed party lines to announce his support for Barack Obama.

University of Virginia researchers associated with the project have revealed that the team have already completed the first of several international artificial pancreas clinical trials to test an individually-“prescribed” control algorithm, which regulates blood glucose levels in Type 1 diabetics.

Odd Mars craters may have been created by fallen moonLondon, Oct 25 : A new study has suggested that an unusual pair of craters on Mars formed when a moon broke apart before crashing into the planet’s surface about a billion years ago.

According to a report in New Scientist, the alignment of two oval-shaped craters on Mars – one spanning 10 km and the other, 3 km – hints they might have been gouged out by a fallen moon that broke apart in the Red Planet’s atmosphere.

The two craters, which lie about 12.5 kilometers apart, share the same oval shape and nearly the same west-east alignment.
