In the latest move to grab more market share during the festive season, Canon India released its latest PowerShot A 1000 IS camera, that is 20% smaller in size than the older cameras by Canon. The stylish and compact camera would provide users with more functions and mobility. 

A lens with 4x zoom, 2.5-inch wide LCD and a special high-end photographic control for point-and-shoot capability are supported by the Canon A 1000 IS camera. 

Berlin - Germany is likely to back the managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Dominique Strauss-Kahn, despite allegations against him, the news magazine Der Spiegel said Saturday.

Moscow - At least three counter-demonstrators were arrested during opposition rallies Saturday, the Interfax agency reported.

Opposition groups which are not represented in the national parliament, the Duma, staged demonstrations for political and social reforms held under the motto "day of rage," with some 400 people participating in a rally in Moscow and around 150 in St. Petersburg.
