FBI says LeT-trained Mumbai attackers came from Pakistan

Islamabad, Dec. 17 : The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has reached a conclusion that the attackers had come to Mumbai from Pakistan.

The dawn quoted FBI sources as saying that the plan was hatched in Pakistan and terrorists were provided necessary training by Laskar-e-Taiba, according to the investigators.

US investigators also concluded after interrogating the lone captured suspect, Ajmal Amir Kasab, that Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence was not involved in the Mumbai attacks.

Diplomats said agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation were allowed to interrogate Kasab for nine hours during which they had established that he was a Pakistan national.

Washington, Dec 17 : Gwyneth Paltrow's mom has denied rumours that her daughter's marriage to Coldplay's Chris Martin is on the rocks, insisting that the couple is `fine' together.

The rumours of the split started making the rounds because in recent months, no pictures have been taken of the couple together.

But, Gwyneth's mom, actress Blythe Danner was taken aback by the reports and slammed all such rumours.

"They don't take pictures together if they can avoid it. It's a strategy. They don't want the pandemonium," Fox News quoted Danner as saying.

In fact, she said the couple are just fine.

"They're staying in England for the new year. Then coming here."

Washington, Dec. 17 : In the wake of last Sunday's shoe-throwing incident against US President George W. Bush in Baghdad's highly secured Green Zone, White House spokeswoman Dana Perino, who received an eye injury in the ensuing melee, has jocularly revealed that White House is mulling over a shoe check-in/ shoe check-out policy.

Bush, who was giving a joint press conference with the Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, ducked sharply as the size 10 loafers whizzed past his head.

Perino, sitting to his right, was hit in the face by a microphone boom sent flying by a presidential bodyguard.

Bush tried to laugh off the attack and insisted that it had no deeper political significance. Perino seemed to follow his example.

Anne Hathaway''s ex admits to £2.4m fraudLondon, Dec 17 : Anne Hathaway''s ex-boyfriend Raffaello Follieri, who was imprisoned in a scam case, has confessed to a fraud of over 2.4 million pounds.

The Italian businessman was sentenced to four-and-a-half year in jail after pleading guilty to 14 counts of wire fraud, conspiracy and money laundering earlier this year, reports the Daily Express.

Follieri's prosecutors filed legal papers in New York on Dec 15, in which they claimed that the 30-year-old Italian has agreed to pay restitution of 1.3 million pounds to the Toronto-based company Dundee Realty Corp.
