London, Jan 8 : Legendary rocker Ronnie Wood has shelled out 13,000 pounds on a vintage guitar for his young Russian girlfriend Ekaterina Ivanova.

Ivanova - who Ronnie left his wife for in 2008 - fell in love with the instrument once played by legendary rocker Jimi Hendrix.

And the Rolling Stone had no qualms about buying the guitar for her - even though she can''t play it.

"She fell in love with the guitar before Christmas but rather than buying it while she was with him, Ronnie wanted to wait and surprise her," the Sun quoted a pal of Ivanova, as saying.

"He loves to treat her with gifts and tokens of his affection.
