Pilibhit, Mar 19 : The sub-divisional magistrate of Pilibhit, has declared BJP MP Varun Gandhi guilty of distributing money among people in Bisalpur village.

Sub-Divisional Magistrate M. A. Akhtar said that Gandhi had extended financial assistance to at least two persons on March 4.

Akhtar said he took statements from the two people to prove his charge.

He said Gandhi had given Rs. 10,000 to the relative of a vendor who was killed a few days ago. Another amount of Rs. 5,000 was distributed to others.

Lahore, Mar. 19 : The Pakistani ‘Elite’ and ‘Mujahid’ forces don’t have basic equipment required for the maintenance of their weapons.

Officials at the Qurban Lines and Qila Gujjar Singh Police Post have complained about the non-availability of equipment required to clean weapons, reports the Daily Times.

Gumla (Jharkhand), Mar 19 : Women in the Gumla block of Jharkhand have joined self-help groups that make detergents and phenols to improve living conditions.

These women are being trained under the Swarnajayanti Gramin Swarozgar Yojana (SGSY), a government scheme.

Banks provide these self-help groups money, which is used as capital and subsidy for starting the business. Initially the district administration gave them 25,000 rupees and then raised it to 2,50,000 rupees with a subsidy of 1,15,000 rupees.

New Delhi, Mar 19 : The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has released its first list of 11 candidates for Madhya Pradesh and five candidates for Jammu and Kashmir for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The party will contest all 29 seats from Madhya Pradesh.

Meanwhile, former State BSP President Bhujbal Singh Ahirwar has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The BSP has also announced that the name for the Ladakh seat will be finalising later.

Washington, Mar 19 : Hollywood actress Julia Roberts was left dazed when one of her co-stars in her forthcoming flick went ballistic and created havoc on the sets.

Julia doesn't want to name the actor who went "bananas" because, according to her, he could not stand people talking while the scenes were being shot.
