London, Apr 25 : A Japanese pop singer, arrested for public indecency, after he was found drunk and naked in a Tokyo park has apologized to his fans for his "shameful" conduct.

Tsuyoshi Kusanagi, 34, who was arrested on April 23 from the park, had allegedly been sitting on the grass, undressed and heavily intoxicated from 10 glasses of Japanese rice wine and beer.

"I drank a lot and did not know what I was doing," the BBC quoted Kusanagi as saying on April 24 after being released by police.

In the study conducted using mouse model, the team discovered that mice lacking the receptor for one type of prostaglandin, a family of fatty compounds key to the cardiovascular system, have lower blood pressure and less atherosclerosis.

A skin patch, called `Electronic Mosquito', could provide a less-invasive alternative for diabetics who need to take regular samples of their own blood to keep glucose levels in check.

The common method of drawing blood from fingertips and using glucose testing strips and metres can be painful, inconvenient and time-consuming.

Therefore, electrical engineers at the Schulich School of Engineering at the University of Calgary have patented the device.

The research team from Temple University has shown that positive body image is more effective than exercise in helping young women lose weight and quit smoking.

Taipei - Taiwan's top negotiator Chiang Pin-kung travelled to Nanjing, China Saturday for talks in Beijing on economic and judicial cooperation across the Taiwan Strait. "During the talks, we will stick to the interests of Taiwan and its public, and sign three agreements on joint efforts to fight crime, financial cooperation and regular flight service," Chiang said before the trip.

The two sides would also issue a joint statement on Chinese investment in Taiwan, he said.
