Washington, December 27: Jennifer Aniston's `Marley & Me' has grossed 14.8 million dollars, beating the 11.8 million dollar-figure raked in by Brad Pitt's `The Curious Case of Benjamin Button' on Christmas Day.

Both movies managed to rock the box office with Aniston's flick earning the highest one-day total ever for a film opening on Christmas while Pitt's movie set the record for the second-highest opening of all-time.

New Delhi, December 27: Johnny Depp has confessed that he indulged in excessive drinking in the 90s to deal with his superstardom.

The `Pirates of the Caribbean' star, who had then been dating hard-party-lover Kate Moss, revealed he let his wild side dominate him so that he could cope with the fame, reports China Daily.

He said: "I never wanted to be the guy people looked at. I felt I could only be myself when I was alone, that I turned into some kind of novelty. The only way I could get through that time was to drink.

The `Liverpool Oratorio' hitmaker recently attended the band's gig at Royal Albert Hall, and was bowled over by their performance.

McCartney met the band backstage and applauded their performance.

Also, he told the Las Vegas band that he would love to work with them on some tracks.

"Paul had a great time at the gig," The Sun quoted a source, as saying.

London, December 27: Alexandra Burke, winner of the fifth series of UK TV talent show `The X Factor', has compared herself to the renowned R&B lady Beyonce Knowles, saying they both have an alter ego onstage.

Burke revealed that like the multi-million selling Grammy winner, she too becomes "a different person" while performing.

"Beyonce gets on stage and she's Sasha Fierce, then she's different off stage. It's just like me. I get on stage and I'm a different person to what I am off stage," the Sun quoted her as saying.

BBC's hit pair's latest adventure `A Matter Of Loaf & Death' was watched by an average of 14.3 million people, the highest figure for any programme on British television this year.

The Christmas special of `Dr Who' set in Dickensian London attracted the second largest audience with 11.7 million viewers, followed by second part of the EastEnders double bill on the third, which drew an audience of 11.5 million.
