The Celebrities and Science Review 2008, prepared by the group Sense About Science, has identified some of the worst examples of scientific illiteracy among those who profess to know better.

London, Dec 26 : Veteran television star Bruce Forsyth will receive knighthood no sooner than 2010, according to sources at Buckingham Palace.

It was expected that the 80-year-old star would be made a Sir in the New Year's Honours followed by heavy campaigning by thousands of fans.

However, The Strictly Come Dancing host, who had been heavily backed, will now have to wait for the honour until next year.

In fact, heavy bets were made on the chances of Forsyth receiving the honour.

As a result, bookies faced a 1million pounds payout and even stopped taking bets earlier this month after a wave of wagers saw his odds plummet to 1/2 favourite, from

Eartha, famous for her cat-like purr, was undergoing treatment for colon cancer.

Her former lover Charles Revson, pioneer of the Revlon cosmetic company, made a flaming red lipstick for her called Fire and Ice.

She gave many hit songs, including the 1953 Christmas song.

New York, December 26: The family and friends of Brooklyn actor John Costelloe, who portrayed the gay-fireman lover Johnny Cakes on `The Sopranos', are shocked that he has killed himself.

The late actor's Sunset Park home still remains sealed with police stickers, more than a week after he ended his own life.

The former FDNY firefighter had shot himself in the head in his basement bedroom on December 16.

"It''s beyond me. This is too much for me to handle right now," the New York Post quoted the rugged actor's father Michael, 77, as saying.

Costelloe's friends are still finding it hard to believe that he has passed away.
