According to the book, apparently back in 2005 there was a big party to celebrate Australia and Mel Gibson, Nicole Kidman, and Keith Urban were all set to be honoured, reports the Daily Telegraph.

‘Marley and Me’ ‘highest-grossing film in North America on Christmas’

London, Dec 28 : `Marley and Me', starring Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson, was reportedly the highest-grossing film in North America on Christmas Day.

20th Century Fox has claimed that the movie, about a puppy acquired by newlyweds, took an estimated 14.8 million dollars, reports the BBC.

Bruce Snyder, distribution president at 20th Century Fox, said the takings for `Marley and Me' were "phenomenal holiday numbers".

He described the film, inspired by a memoir by US journalist John Grogan, as "the definition of a ''feel-good movie''".

Sigourney Weaver may return to ‘Alien’ as OAP

London, December 28  Hollywood's first female action hero Sigourney Weaver has been in talks with director Ridley Scott to reprise her role for a fifth `Alien' film.

The two-time Oscar nominee, who first appeared in as Lt Ellen Ripley in the movie in 1979, confessed she would not mind returning as a pensioner, reports the Sun.

She said: "I would definitely do another Alien film if I had a director like Ridley Scott and we had a good idea. Ridley is enthusiastic about it. If it happened, I would be happy."

She continued: "It really didn't bother me being 50 and I don't think it will at 60 either. I really feel good every time I start a new decade.

Opera singer booed by anti-fur protestors for opening Harrods salec

London, December 28 : Opera singer Katherine Jenkins was booed by anti-fur protestors as she stepped of horse-drawn carriage out to open Harrods' winter sale.

The award-winning mezzo-soprano heard "shame on Katherine" slogans as she arrived after singer Leona Lewis reportedly declined to open the sale owing to the store's policy of selling fur.

The Welsh musician had been escorted into the store by owner Mohamed Al Fayed, reports the BBC.

Campaigners alleged that Harrods was the only major UK store to offer imported fur for sale.

Indian filmmaker to portray what life is actually like for immigrants in US

Washington, Dec 28 : Indian-born, Maryland-raised director Shilpa Priya Jagadeesh says she wants to portray what life is actually like for 20-something Indian immigrants in the United States.

"I want to portray what life is actually like for 20-something Indian immigrants here," said Shilpa, who is known to her Indian audiences as Priyabharati Joshi.

"The romantic struggle of not wanting our parents to arrange a marriage for us because that''s not the environment we grew up in, but also of not having a lot of experience finding someone on our own because our parents restricted our dating when we were younger. . . . It''s kind of ''Bridget Jones meets Bollywood,'' " she added.
