Gati Declared 52.19% Jump in Earnings, offers Dividend
Leading logistics & courier service provider, Gati filed a fantastic jump of 52.19% in net earnings for the quarter ended June 30, 2007, paced by enhanced operating margin and solid other income.
The company saw an increase in net profit to Rs 72.90 million from Rs 47.90 million during the quarter as compared to the corresponding period of the last year.
Net sales for the quarter slumped marginally 1.66% to Rs 1,220 million, whereas total income for the quarter fell slightly 0.67% to Rs 1,241.50 million as against the corresponding quarter, a year ago (2006).
Operating margins augmented to 10.11% in the quarter, which showed an increase of 262.64 basis points compared with the corresponding quarter, a year ago. The EPS for the quarter skidded 28.37% to Rs 1.01 as compared with the corresponding quarter, a year ago.
The board of directors of the company declared a dividend of 40% on improved capital for the year ended Jun. 30, 2007.
Shares of the company missed Rs 1.10, or 1.05%, to Rs 103.75 at the Bombay Stock Exchange. The total volume of shares traded was 34,442. (Thursday)
