Furious Call Centre employee Sets co-worker on Fire

Call Centre in India
New Delhi: A call centre worker allegedly tried to set aflame Mandeep Kaur, his 22-year-old fellow worker, after she rejected his marriage proposal.

For the past sometime, Abhishek and Mandeep were working in the same call centre in Saraswati Vihar, and used to travel together to their homes nocturnally in his car.

Police alleged that Abhishek had recently proposed to Mandeep, but after she rejected her proposal, he began to harass her by making fake phone calls among many other things.

The police also told that she had even complained to her boss who admonished him.

Today, when they were going back their homes from work at around 2 am, the angered boy allegedly poured kerosene on her and tried to set her on fire.

Though she defied, Mandeep suffered 25 per cent burn wounds on her back.

Verma ran away quickly after the episode and Mandeep made a call to police station after which she was rushed to Lok Nayak Jaiprakash Narayan Hospital. Afterward, she was shifted to Maharaja Agrasen hospital.

A case of attempt to murder was filed against Abhishek who is still absconding.
