Fox Star Studios manages to clinch multiple-film deal with Vipul Shah
Fox Star Studios, a joint venture between Twentieth Century Fox and Star, has entered into a multiple-film deal with Indian producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah, whose latest film 'Singh is Kinng' became the top-grosser Indian film of all times.
Under the agreement, the VFX (visual effects) films will be supported by a team of top visual effects directors from Hollywood and supervised by Fox’s multiple award-winning in-house visual effects team.
Further, the pact includes development and production of a visual effects-driven fantasy action movie, a romantic comedy and a first look deal on Shah's future projects.
Shah's first three directorial ventures 'Aankhein', 'Waqt' and 'Namastey London' have also registered good business. He is presently working on Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan starrer for the forthcoming movie 'London Dreams,' which is slated to release in 2009.
Last month, Twentieth Century Fox and the Star entertainment and media group have revealed the formation of Fox STAR Studios to produce Asian-language films for worldwide distribution.
The Indian film industry is expected to touch $4.4 billion mark by 2012 from $2.4 billion in 2007.
