Four-goal Hoffenheim sweep back to the top as Bayern move third
Hamburg - Hoffenheim thrashed Karlsruhe 4-1 to reclaim the top spot in the Bundesliga on Saturday, while champions Bayern Munich grabbed a 3-1 win over Arminia Bielefeld to move to third.
Bosnia-Herzegovina striker Vedad Ibisevic and Nigerian Chinedu Obasi eached bagged two as Hoffenheim swept to a fifth successive victory.
It puts Rolf Rangnick's side onto to 25 points from 11 games, one more than Bayer Leverkusen, who had gone top overnight after defeating Wolfsburg 2-0.
Bayern earned a 3-1 victory over lowly Bielefeld thanks to goals from Miroslav Klose, Franck Ribery and substitute Lukas Podolski from the penalty spot to go third on 21 points.
SV Hamburg meanwhile slipped to fifth on 20 points after crashing to a 3-0 defeat at Hanover.
Schalke 04 moved fourth - also on 20 points - with a 2-0 win at bottom club Energie Cottbus despite having Dutch midfielder Orlando Engleaar sent off, while Werder Bremen crushed Hertha Berlin 5-1. (dpa)
