Ford expands its SUV portfolio
The Indian subsidiary of the American auto major, Ford Motor Company has recently announced an expansion in its SUV portfolio with the launch of the 4X2 Automatic variant of the Endeavour.
Michael Boneham, president and managing director, Ford India, said at the launch of the product that the company is very excited and delighted about the launch of this product in the Indian market.
Moreover, Boneham also mentioned the fact that the company will be looking at getting additional sales volumes and will build on the strong Endeavour sales so far this year. It is to be mentioned here that as the product is priced at Rs. 17.89 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru) it is expected to give a tough competition to Toyota's Fortuner, which has been disturbing the smooth run of Endeavour in the country.
For the speed lovers, the Endeavour 4x2 AT is powered by a 3.0-litre, 156 PS DuraTorq TDCi (common-rail) powertrain with the Variable Geometry Turbocharger (VGT) and 5-speed automatic gearbox, giving enough reasons to the consumers to get the adrenaline rush.
Fortuner has been an instant success in the Indian market and Ford is surely planning to make a comeback with the launch of this new variant.
