Ford delays initial launch of Focus Electric in the US
According to some reports, Ford is delaying the initial launch of its Focus Electric model in the US and will only be available to customers in New York and California this year.
The model was originally set to launch later this year in 19 markets. "For the first few months of production, we will be concentrating on California and New York, “wrote David Finnegan, Ford spokesperson on the MyFocusElectric forum.
He also said that the company dealers in the two regions will be the first to receive Focus Electric and the it will rolled out n other markets in Spring 2012. Buyers in areas including Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Detroit, Houston, Orlando, Phoenix, Portland, Raleigh Durham, Richmond, Seattle, Tucson and Washington DC will have to wait longer for the model.
The Ford Focus Electric will compete with the likes of Nissan Leaf and Chevrolet Volt in the country.
