Force Motors to Launch Its SUV in July
The manufacturer of commercial vehicles, Force Motors Ltd., which is known for its light commercial vehicles such as Tempo, Matador and Traveller has announced to launch its sports utility vehicles (SUVs) under the brand name Force One in July.
The announcement was made by the Managing Director of Force Motors, Prasan Firodia. She added that their main business will remain commercial vehicles but the company has created the new vertical, keeping in view the growth and demand in the market.
The company has already invested about Rs 150 billion over the last 12-18 months, in its manufacturing plant of SUVs in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh. The plant has an installed capacity of 12,000 SUVs which could be increased.
The company has revealed that it has planned to sell 4,000 SUVs in the first year of operations. The company has posted a rise of 55% in its net sale for the financial year ended on March 31. The net sales of the company was Rs1480 crore whereas the profit was Rs. 58.62 crore.
Meanwhile, auto sale in India has grown at rapid rate of 30% in 2010, but in May, the sale rose 7%, which was the slowest in two years.
