Five trapped in Colombian gold mine
Bogota - Five miners in the northwestern Colombian province of Antioquia were trapped after a gold mine caved in on Monday, authorities said.
Rescuers were working to clear the mine following the rockslide and had confirmed that the miners were alive, John Roldan, the director of disaster management in the province, said.
The miners were believed to be running out of water and food. Eroded wooden studs were blamed for the collapse. (dpa)
