The most popular UK broadband service BT is happy to announce that it has managed to hit the five million customers mark. It also announced that the present achievement is attained in just two years time and the firm is expecting to reach six million as early as possible. To celebrate the success, Elizabeth Patterson, the fifth millionth user, was awarded a trip to Winter Olympics by BT.

BT's Consumer Division Managing Director, John Petter was delighted with the success and explained the ability of Broadband, which has changed lives and intense competition associate with it. He also said that the success has shown that UK customers have enjoyed superb innovation in low prices.

It is believed that BT is coming up with more next year as it is participating in the project Canvas. Earlier next generation broadband service was announced to be launched in 2013. It is also said the company achieved the success after some days when the company announced rolling out its 100 Mbps fibre optic internet connection to its users.
