First 'Sleeping Dogs' campaign DLC to be released on October 30

First 'Sleeping Dogs' campaign DLC to be released on October 30In a recent announcement at a New York Comic Con panel, United Front Games and Square Enix London Studios revealed that ‘Nightmare in North Point’ – the first story-expansion piece of downloadable content (DLC) for ‘Sleeping Dogs’ – will be released on October 30.

To be the first of a series of story-linked expansion DLCs for the August-launched Sleeping Dogs title, Nightmare in the North will essentially be a Halloween-themed DLC which will introduce the supernatural element to the title’s Hong Kong version.

To be fairly akin to Red Dead Redemption’s Undead Nightmare expansion in terms of length as well as theme, the forthcoming Nightmare in the North DLC for Sleeping Dogs is largely a developers' take on zombie fiction through Chinese mythology.

Despite the fact that United Front Games and Square Enix London Studios refrained from announcing the cost of Nightmare in the North DLC at the panel, a Square Enix representative said that the DLC – in which the gamers will play the role of Sleeping Dogs’ protagonist Wei Shen –will offer a few hours' worth of content.

Revealing that the campaign unfolded in the Nightmare in the North DLC will chiefly feature the story of the 18K Triad gang’s ex-member who is killed and raised along with undead militia, co-developer United Front Games said: “With the DLC, we feel we can explore other aspects of Hong Kong cinema.”
