Firecracker explosion kills 29 in Rajasthan
The death toll in fire cracker explosion tragedy in Deeg of Bharatpur district has touched 29. It includes 11 children. Several other seriously injured persons have been hospitalized.
The explosion took place at Darukuta Mohalla in Deeg town in the house of two brothers, Sukha and Badle Jatav, while they were making crackers.
Bharatpur superintendent of police Rohit Mahajan said, "Preliminary investigations indicate that the blast might have been caused by a spark while crackers were being manufactured in the house."
The forensic team has collected samples from the spot as part of the ongoing investigation. Police have also recovered more than one tonne of explosive from the nearby areas. Six cases have been registered in this connection and 8 persons were booked. The blast occurred at 9.20 pm on Last Tuesday.
In a similar incident three years ago four persons were killed in the same area.
