FIAT India on a roll

FIAT-LogoWhen FIAT entered India for the third time a couple of years back, many experts were sceptical of its optimism and ambitions. However, the years gone by have proved the critics wrong as the Italian automaker has been able to establish a cushy position for its self in the Indian market.

Continuing its success, the Indian subsidiary of the Italian passenger car major has been able to file a growth of 57% in sales for the month of April 2010 over the same period last year. It may be noted here that Fiat India's total domestic sales in April 2010 stood at 1,800 which was way up as compared to 1,205 vehicles sold in April 2009.

In fact, it is believed that most of this growth is coming from the hatchback offering that the company has in its portfolio - Grande Punto. The company's cumulative sales (including exports) for the fiscal currently stands at a tall 2,022 vehicles which is stupendous as against 1,289 vehicles sold last year.

Running high with these impressive numbers, Fiat India has registered a 57% growth in this fiscal sales for the year 2010-11 as against the last fiscal.
