Facebook updates its messenger for iOS and AndroidSocial networking giant, Facebook has upgraded its Messenger working on the iOS and Android platforms in order to address concerns raised by the users.

The company's only app has been upgraded to address problems face by users with the text-based communication. The company released the new Version 1.7 of Facebook Messenger for iPhone and Android, which will allow users to easily chat with friends.

The new version will also come with new features that will allow users to know the location of their friends and type easily with a more visible real-time typing indicator. The new feature called, "seen by" indicator tells users if their friends have read the message.

"The new Messenger clients for both iOS and Android make mobile messaging more conversational, especially when texting groups of friends on the go," a said Facebook spokesperson.

Other upgrades are aimed at making typing easier and free allowing. The location and app-type indicators tell users if their friends are messaging from near or far when they message from their mobile devices.

According to a new report, the updates will show up first in the standalone Messenger apps for iOS and Android, and then appear in Facebook's main mobile apps and its website.
