Ex-priest, already serving 5-year prison, faces new allegations

Daniel-McCormacAccording to the reports, a former Catholic priest midway through a 5-year prison sentence for molesting five boys in Chicago faces new allegations from four more victims.

Daniel McCormack, 41, pleaded guilty in 2007 to molestation charges and was scheduled to be paroled in September 2009, but prosecutors filed suit to keep him confined as a continued risk.

The Chicago Tribune has reported that Church officials Friday told the Cook County state's attorney's office and the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services that they received complaints from four more men alleging McCormack molested them at St. Agatha Parish and Our Lady of the Westside School.

The newspaper further reported that the new allegations could help the prosecution keep McCormack behind bars or in a mental-health facility.

It was also reported that the next hearing in the case is scheduled for May 18. (With Inputs from Agencies)
