Explosives made in Nagpur; 19 bombs defused by Hyderabad Police

As per Forensic report, the explosive used in the twin blasts in the city was manufactured at Nagpur, Maharashtra. The explosive used was Neogel-90, an ammonium nitrate based emulsifier. The explosives were manufactured at Omni explosives in Nagpur. Hyderabad Police has reported that seven more unexploded bombs were found is different parts of the city.

The city is on high alert. The bombs were destroyed and the security in the State has been increased, officials said. The officials have confirmed 43 deaths so far. The injured are undergoing treatment in various hospitals. Indian President Pratibha Patil said the attacks were aimed at disturbing harmony in the city. Prime Minister has condemned the act. Three months earlier, 11 people were killed in a bombing at Mecca Mosque.

The police teams located 12 explosive devices on Saturday after the blasts. The police staff is searching cinema halls, railway stations and bus stops. The bomb defused at Dilsukhnagar was fitted with the explosives and metal balls.

Talking to media, Police Commissioner Mr. Balwinder Singh said that total of 19 unexploded bombs have been found in the city. The situation could have been worse if there were more blasts. The police staff is investigating the crime scene and has not found any major clue so far. The Police Commissioner has not commented on any connection with Pakistan in the matter. The Commissioner has stated that the law and order situation in the city is in control. The police staff is working with investigators and the officials are confident to find more information regarding the blasts very soon. Mr. Balwinder also requested the residents to be careful and report anything suspicious to the police immediately.
