At the moment when a GoM is bearing in mind an offer to provide 26 per cent earning of mining plan to tribal's, finance minister Pranab Mukherjee today expressed that although people being relocated due to mining, actions must be crafted beneficial in the economic progress, resolution does not slouch in entirely by ending such projects.

Way out is not in totally hindering the mining deeds. The resolution is in giving choices to those who will be relocated, those who will bear, in what way they can reimburse them and build them the recipient of the economic growth. That is the challenge and the government is focusing on that issue, the finance minister expressed at a Coal Meeting here.

The matter of mining has mounted into a powerful debate ever since the environment ministry dismissed the previous clearances provided to Vedanta's Rs 70,000-crore bauxite mining plan in Niyamgiri Hills of Orissa on the basis of infringement green and tribal standards.

Furthermore, the matter also acquired a political tint since Rahul Gandhi, the general secretary of the Congress, supported the tribal's' foundation in Niyamgiri hills, which is abode to Dongria Kondh ethnic group.
