'Endhiran' Set For July-August Release
Tollywood megastar Rajnikant said that "Endhiran" will hit theatres in July or August this year.
Rajnikant was talking on one of the priciest movies to be made in India, with a budget of more than Rs 125 crore, after he met Chief Minister K. Karunanidhi Thursday to thank him for attending the engagement party of Rajnikant's second daughter Soundarya with businessman Ashwin Ramkumar.
Directed by S. Shankar, "Endhiran" is science-fiction flick, which stars Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Rajnikant.
Shankar, who with Endhiran, directs his 10th movie, said that ninety percent of the film is complete.
A. R. Rahman, who sets a new record for the most high-priced Indian Musician, is composing music for Endhiran.
Firstly titled as Robot, the project was launched by Shankar and maker C. Karunamoorthy, chief executive of Ayngaran International, who were ready to distribute the movie together with Eros Labs.
However, in December 2008, both production companies pulled out, amidst shooting schedules, owing to financial troubles led by the presently ongoing global market recession.
Now, the production rights have been sold to Sun Pictures. (With Input from Agencies)
