EADS has submitted new bid for the refueling contract for USAF
EADS, the European defence contractor has submitted a new bid to get the contract of refueling aircraft of the US Air Force (USAF). Its rival Boeing's bid is expected to be submitted very soon to the Pentagon. The contract has been long delayed and it is worth 35 billion dollars.
The World Trade Organization (WTO) has been investigating the fact that whether the company Boeing receives any illegal subsidies from the government of US but the agency has decided to postpone its decision on this matter.
Both the firms EADS and Boeing have reported allegations over illegal subsidies against each other to the WTO.
After that the WTO started its investigation over that matter and at the end of June the agency has ruled that the EADS had got illegal subsidies from the EU.
But both the EU and EADS has criticized the WTO over the delay of the Boeing decision. In the other hand the EADS is hoping for a positive response from US as it has submitted a proposal for defence contract of more than 8000 pages one day before the deadline.
