Dropbox to set up its international headquarters in DublinPopular cloud computing giant Dropbox has announced its decision to set up its international headquarters in Dublin, Ireland.

Dropbox, the San Francisco-based file-sharing service that allows users to access & share digital content with others around the world, has plans to establish its international headquarters in Dublin early next year.

Two-thirds of Dropbox's one hundred million users are situated outside of the United States, and Europe accounts for nearly one-third of them. The upcoming facility in Dublin will provide the company's European user base with technical support and other functions.

Drew Houston, CEO & co-founder of the company, said that the new facility would allow the company to get better-positioned to serve even more people.

Speaking on the topic, Houston said, "By opening our international headquarters in Dublin and tapping into the large talent pool that exists there, we're better- positioned to serve even more people locally while we continue to grow."

Richard Bruton, Ireland's jobs, enterprise & innovation minister, said in a statement that Dropbox's arrival to the country was a great example of the Government's efforts to attract high-growth promising companies to situate here.

The company has already started the recruitment processor for its upcoming facility, which is expected to become equipped with a workforce of around 40 people early next year. The company has plans to double that number of employees at the facility in its second year of operating.

Dublin facility will be Dropbox's first office outside of California, where the company has a workforce of more than two hundred people.
