A dozen militants surrender in J-K

Ramban (Jammu and Kashmir), Dec 24: A dozen militants belonging to the banned Hizbul Mujahideen outfit surrendered before Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad at Ramban in Doda district on Sunday.

Azad said the surrender proved that the situation in the state is getting back to normal after nearly two decades of terrorism.

Among those who surrendered were three self-styled Hizb commanders, who have been active in the region for a decade.

A huge cache of arms and ammunition was also handed over during the surrender ceremony.

Hizbul Mujahideen is currently the biggest militant group operating in Kashmir. (ANI)
