The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has released a report on a salmonella outbreak happened in the US. In the report, the officials have stated that people should not cuddle chicken and salmonella can take place from many things.

In the US, there have been 181 cases of salmonella and 33 of them required hospitalization. As per experts, salmonella can get fine within a week, but in certain cases it can become severe as well. Salmonella’s symptoms include diarrhea, fever, abdominal cramps and in certain cases, it can cause death as well.

The CDC has taken interviews of 95 people who were having salmonella. They were questions including contact with animals, what they have eaten during the week. After interviewing them, it was found that 82 of them had a contact with live poultry in the week before their illness started. Sixty four ill people said that they have bought live baby poultry from 17 different feed supply stores and hatcheries in many states.

Many have stated that they have brought their live poultry in their homes and others reported of kissing and cuddling the live poultry. The CDC has said that people should allow live poultry inside their house.

Currently, the CDC is looking into four recent big salmonella outbreaks in the nation. Now, it is being said that most of the cases were caused due to live chickens.
