Dera Sacha Sauda Chief gets interim Bail
Chandigarh: Punjab and Haryana High Court has granted interim bail to Dera Sacha Sauda head Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh till October 4. Dera Chief has been booked under two cases of murder and one case of rape. The investigation was done by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
As per the court orders, Dera Chief has been directed to surrender his passport. Justice L N Mittal also ordered Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh to file an affidavit that he did not possess any other passport.
The Dera chief will have to apply for a regular bail in Ambala court. Till the time, the decision comes from the Ambala court, the interim bail will be applicable. The charges were filed by CBI in Ambala.
The CBI had also filed a chargesheet, accusing Dera chief of murdering a Sirsa-based journalist, Ram Chander Chatterpatti, and for the alleged rape of a Sadhavi.
Baba Gurmeet is accused of murdering Ranjit Singh, who threatened to reveal the name of those who were involved in wrongdoings inside the Dera headquarters at Sirsa.
