Dejun to replace Liangjun as CEO of ZTE India

Dejun to replace Liangjun as CEO of ZTE IndiaChina's second-largest telecom equipment maker, ZTE Corp has said that it has appointed Xu Dejun as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of its Indian unit, ZTE India.

Mr. Xu Dejun will replace Cui Liangjun, who will now work at the company's headquarters located in Shenzhen, China. He said that the company will now focus on key customers, service business and terminals in the Indian market. Mr. Xu has been working in India since 2005.

While announcing the appointment, the company said that it is planning to lau nch new products in the Indian market and increase the revenues from smartphones by about 30 per cent in the country. ZTE will soon launch 3G data cards and smartphones in India.

"Our enterprise business is expanding at a phenomenal rate and we have focused partner initiatives in place to build more synergy. We are working on various projects for education, hospitality and smart cities," said Xu.

The company also said that its sales improved to $700 million in the country. ZTE has emerged as the world's fourth-biggest handset maker as it looked to expand into consumer electronics business as telecom equipment market showed signs of a slowdown.
