DDR3 memory chips unveiled by Samsung

With the ever increasing demand for more RAM, Samsung has come out with new DDR3 memory chips unveiled by Samsung two-gigabit (256MB) DDR3 chips, which aims at enabling memory modules with up to 16GB capacity.

These DDR3 chips, which uses 50 nanometer manufacturing process, are twice as dense as before and encourages a drop in power consumption of 40% over one-gigabit modules. These new chips would also give faster speeds.

The mass production of these chips will be commenced by the end of this year and the company is expecting this new technology to become their chief DRAM process technology next year.
