CWG lanes in operation from today
The situation for the Delhi traffic is expected to be much more tough now as the Delhi Police has announced that the CWG lanes will be in full operations today onwards.
While the authorities have already made it clear that a fine of Rs. 2,000 will be levied on the vehicle for driving through segregated lanes, the authorities have also said that it will result in impounding of the vehicle during the shutdown period.
It is to be mentioned here that as the traffic was already finding it tough to manage with the rains, the police has said that it will be a 24-hour close down. Satyendra Garg, Joint Commissioner (Traffic) said that the exclusive lanes for the CWG will come into effect Thursday onwards.
Moreover, the police has also said that while the situation is still in control till the 26th of September, after that, it is going to be all the more tough as a lot of delegates from various countries will start visiting the country.
However, the police has said that it will keep people informed on the developments and has suggested the common public to avoid Safdurjung Road, Kamal Ataturk Marg, Panchsheel Marg, Sardar Patel Marg, Siri Fort Road, Harsukh Marg, Purana Quila Road and Mother Teresa Crescent.
