Cricket fans face baton charge in Gwalior

Gwalior, Nov 15 : Police resorted to baton charge on cricket fans here today following a row over entry into the Captain Roop Singh stadium where the fourth ODI between India and Pakistan is being played.

The spectators were complaining of not being allowed to enter inside the stadium in spite of having valid tickets.

" They (organisers) have been harassing us under the pretext of making security arrangements. It has been almost five hours since we have been standing in the queue, and have not even got a glimpse of the match. I doubt whether I will even get to see the match, " said Mohit Saxena, a cricket fan.

Many were disappointed with the poor arrangements made by the organisers.

"Since nine in the morning, I have been standing in this queue. There is space for just 35, 000 people here and if they cannot even handle this - then it is a shame for sure, " said Ahmed.

Ahead of the match, security arrangements were made for the smooth conduct of the match; however, problems occurred allegedly because of excessive sale of tickets. (ANI)
