CPM MP Hails `Investor-Friendly' Modi
Young CPM MP, A P Abdullakutty praised the Gujarat Chief Minister's industry friendliness, although the Marxists hate Narendra Modi.
Abdullakutty, who represents the Marxist stronghold of Kannur in Kerala, spoke so while speaking at an interaction organized by the Indian Media Forum in Dubai.
Although, the Lok Sabha MP opposes Modi’s policies on minorities, he lauded Modi’s efforts to bring companies to Gujarat. Abdullakutty also said that Modi‘s way in dealing with the investors is "worth analyzing'' as Reliance showed keenness to invest heavily in Gujarat and land was given to Tata to start the Nano plant, while it did not materialise in West Bengal.
Abdullakutty further pointed out that Kerala needed to do more to attract investments. An important step was to avoid Hartals.
These comments by Abdullakutty, who is known for his radical views, are certain to start a controversy in the party. This was visible immediately, when on Monday, the BJP State President, P K Krishnadas asked the State Government to send an official delegation to Gujarat.
Earlier the MP had annoyed the party by performing `umrah' (pilgrimage) at Mecca and also spoke publicly about his spiritual encounters. He was also one of the first among CPM leaders to speak out against hartals while the views of his party are contrary.
