Convention On ‘Global Warming’ To Begin From Dec 18
With the aim to create awareness about the issue and speed up steps to deal with global warming and climatic change, the Hyderabad (Sind) National Collegiate Board, RD National College and WA Science College will jointly organize the 16th International Economic Convention at National College, Bandra from December 18-20.
The theme of the convention will be ‘Global warming and climate change’.
Dr. Manjula Desai, college principal said, “The convention is a platform to motivate undergraduate students to pursue research activities and to develop analytical, presentation and leadership skills, self confidence and camaraderie.”
During the convention, lots of core issues including economic, social and cultural, political repercussions of climate change, affect of climatic change on poor and vulnerable groups, impact on aquatic life, coastal areas and biodiversity in the ocean would be discussed.
The quality of forest cover plays an important role in battling global warming and climatic change.
Mr. Desai added, “Considering the importance of forests, issues like depletion of forest resources, afforestation, carbon budget and soil conservation and wetland ecology will be discussed during the convention.”
