Powered by a tidy bowling performance, New Zealand team registered a comprehensive eight-wicket win in the fifth and the last ODI against India.

Man of the Match Jesse Ryder of New Zealand scored 63 runs off just 49 balls which included 4 towering sixes and 6 fours and also took three crucial wickets as New Zealand beat India by eight wickets with almost 20 overs to spare in the fifth ODO on Saturday.

Indian skipper MS Dhoni won the toss and elected to bat first. However, the star-studded Indian batting line-up were all out for 149 runs in 36.3 overs.

Expect for Rohit Sharma who remained not ought on 43 and opening batsman Virendra Sehwag (40 off just 27 balls) no other Indian player could stay at the wicket for long.

Chasing the victory target of 150 runs in 43 overs, New Zealand got to a bad start as its opening explosive batsman Brendon McCullum was bowled by Praveen Kumar for just 2 runs. However, left handed batsman Ryder and Martin Guptill(57 n.o. off 50 balls) ensured victory for Kiwis.

Due to rain, the match was from 50 to 43 overs per side.

India won the rain-affected series 3-1. The test series begins Wednesday.
