Comcast to offer HBO on demand
The Philadelphia-based company, Comcast Corporation, will provide programs on demand from Home Box Office Inc as a part of its project infinity. The customers with subscription of HBO over cable-television can ask for their favorite programs and movies at any time they want, over the premium cable network.
But, the on demand library can be accessed only by the customers having subscription of both Comcast and HBO, to get access to popular TV programs such as Entourage, The Sopranos, the Wire, Dark Knight, American Gangster and more. Comcast is working out plans to expand its program menu to include program contents from other networks.
The company currently provides over 10,000 standard-definition programs and more than 1,000 HD shows or movies through its online service. It offers the facility of pause, rewind and fast forward to the subscriber through its online service.
The on demand service has eliminated the need of a DVR, and the subscribers can enjoy the service through the company's cable TV service.
